Dr Chrispy is the musical alter ego of Dr Chris Boshuizen, an Australian astronaut, space explorer and technologist. As a life-long advocate for space exploration, Chris has worked tirelessly to “make space travel as easy as catching a bus.” On October 13, 2021 he became the 3rd Australian to go to space, flying alongside Star Trek’s William Shatner on Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket.
Dr Chrispy blends Synthwave with modern hard hitting Progressive House beats to create an accessible and energising sound. With a strong focus on songwriting and finding truth in lyrics, Dr Chrispy aims to connect with and inspire the future generation of artists and explorers.
To unpack the intense emotional experience of his trip to space, he is making an EP of songs and accompanying cinematic music videos featuring exclusive spaceflight footage. Each music video explores a different aspect of the space travel experience, with the intent to inspire people about this exciting new era of democratic space exploration. He has released the first two singles from his EP, “The Great Unknown” & “Zero Gravity,” and their accompanying music videos have already reached over 5 million viewers and counting!
Chris founded Interplanetary Records, an independent record label, and also runs his own home studio in San Francisco where he continues to write new Dr Chrispy music.
